Duke Evensong & Vespers Staff Singer Auditions:
Duke University Chapel is seeking staff singers from January 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, to join its professional octet. The successful candidates will be highly accomplished and versatile singers with strong sight-reading skills who will enjoy being part of a vibrant and friendly ensemble. The service repertoire is large and varied and the successful applicants are likely to have extensive experience in professional singing. Duties include Choral Evensong Sundays at 4:00pm, rotating calls for Choral Vespers on Thursdays, and special services and concerts throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings.

Duke Chapel Choir Seeks Section Leaders:
The Duke University Chapel Choir is seeking experienced sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses for paid section leader positions. Section leaders will be expected to sight-read at a high level, display confident preparation of service and concert music, and have a strong voice which reinforces their section. Section leaders may also be asked to perform occasional solo work. The ability to lead sectional rehearsals is preferred.
Attendance requirements include Wednesday evening rehearsals from 6:00-7:50pm, Sunday morning rehearsals from 9:15-10:30am, and the 11:00am worship service. The Duke Chapel Choir will also perform Bach’s St. Matthew Passion in March. Additional rehearsals for these and other events will be scheduled in advance.
