New book on the meaning and background of Carmina Burana’s lyrics

April 5, 2018 by debisimonsgmail-com 2 Comments

Do you have a group that is performing some or all of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana? I have written a book giving the text, translations (based on the Schott Music material but with many changes of my own), commentaries, and illustrations. I wrote an early version of this material for the Cherry Creek Chorale in Englewood, Colorado, and did my best to make it interesting as well as informative. Now I’ve developed a fuller version with commentaries for every section of Carmina as well as an introduction. I think I can guarantee that your students will enjoy the material and gain a fuller understanding of the texts they’re singing. Visit my website’s store page to order the choral version that can be posted on your website giving access to your entire group:

Re: Carmina Burana lyrics: I don’t have either of the online programs necessary to use your research; is there another way for me to read it? Thanks.
