The Choral Scholar and American Choral Review, the journal of the National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO), seeks volunteer score reviewers to contribute to future editions. Our reviews aim to be informative introductions to works and composers that readers may not know. The works reviewed are appropriate for collegiate-level choirs and represent a wide range of styles, languages, and musical traditions.
While the journal typically publishes written reviews, we encourage reviewers to make the reviews themselves as accessible as possible. This could mean including a scrolling score video or other multimedia related to the piece in question, or links to other works by the composer, to text/translation guides or other resources, or even to related material that might help readers to better contextualize the work under review.
