Despite all of the current restrictions, it’s very encouraging to hear and read that choirs are continuing to get together and rehearse however they can and plan music for Remembrance and Christmas services and concerts, albeit in a more limited way…. all the pieces in the Accessible Choral Library Series are designed to be appealing and accessible enough to be learned quickly and suit smaller groups of singers so can easily be slotted into a programme at very short notice and with minimum rehearsal required… you can view the whole Series on our website… here is an enduring favourite from Peter Thompson which continues to be a best-seller year in, year out….

Hi Lynn…. many thanks in taking the time to comment on our post. I am sorry though that you felt the post was in some way confusing, but yes Choralnet did approve the post, hopefully appreciating the spirit in which it was made. In the UK, choirs are currently able to sing in small groups as long as venues are ‘Covid safe’ and we all abide by the distancing regulations and mask-wearing etc. Indeed, many Cathedral choirs are returning and one of the choirs that I belong to rehearsed ‘safely’ recently, albeit in much reduced numbers, for a live-streaming short Remembrance recording we are doing (which, I have to say, was a very emotional experience for everyone for a variety of reasons). So these are very small steps but glimmers of light hopefully emerging at the end of a dark tunnel which is what we find encouraging, and I hope clears up any concerns about our post that were caused. Best wishes, Anne

Am I reading this correctly? That despite the current restrictions, it’s encouraging that choirs are meeting.Did Choralnet approve this post? I’m a bit confused. Whatever happened to safety first. I hope I’m wrong in how I’m interpreting this.
