Ember will hear singers interested in becoming an Ember Artist in time to sing in Ember’s 30th anniversary concert. Auditions are on Wednesday, February 5th, between 6 PM and 9 PM in the Opera America building, one block south of Penn Station.
Is Ember your new singing home? In Ember, you can expect to . . .
- be stretched both musically and personally, and supported in the journey of growth;
- work with others who hold a strong belief in the power of the Arts, and music in particular, to impact lives in meaningful ways;
- work with composers directly on a fairly regular basis.
Ember embraces singers with a passion for music with a message; and who possess solid sight-reading skills, excellent intonation and a clear tone.
We look forward to hearing a song/aria of your choice that best showcases your abilities. (An accompanist will be provided.) We will also ask you to sight-sing your line in a choral piece as part of our time together.

Ember is a mixture of deeply experienced avocational singers; active professionals who donate their time and talent; and singers who are active professionals and receive a stipend for their work. All adhere to the same audition requirement, rehearsal schedule, and high artistic bar. Ember Artists hail from throughout the tri-state area, which broad reach is accommodated by the Penn Station rehearsal neighborhood. All self-produced concerts are all performed at least twice.
Rehearsals are typically on Tuesday evenings throughout the season, with Wednesdays added into two weeks prior to each concert.
Our 30th anniversary concert will include . . .
- Premiere compositions by Ablaze Composer Lab winners, Ronan Caci-Kukelka and Leak Tracy;
- “The Gift to Sing,” written by Wayne Eastwood for Ember’s 30th!
- Additional repertoire from within PROJECT : ENCORE and Ember’s 30th years of favorite repertoire
