We will hold auditions for our upcoming season on Wednesday, Sep. 7th in New York City. Singers must possess solid sight-reading skills, excellent intonation, and a clear tone. Singers should prepare one solo in the style of their choosing that showcases their ability. They will also be asked to sight-sing during the audition. Ember membership is a mixture of singers who are active professionals and receive a stipend for their work; active professionals who donate their time and talent; and deeply experienced avocational singers. All adhere to the same audition requirement, rehearsal schedule, and high artistic bar. Ember singers hail from both NY and NJ (accommodated by the Penn Station rehearsal neighborhood), and self-produced concerts are all performed in both NYC and northern NJ. Rehearsals are typically on Tuesday evenings throughout the season, with Thursdays added the two weeks prior to each concert in New York City, two blocks from Penn Station.
