October 30, 2018 by Jeffrey James Leave a Comment

The Canticum Novum Singers (http://canticumnovum.org/) is looking for singers, especially sopranos, for its 2018-2019 season, its 46th under its founder, Conductor and Artistic Director Harold Rosenbaum. Contact him at or 914-582-3915.

The December 2018 program will include selections from J. S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, plus works by Praetorius, Distler, Brahms, Sanström, Rosenbaum and Irving Berlin. In April 2019, the group presents an all-Baroque program, including works by Bach, Handel, Purcell, Lotti, Green, Monteverdi, Rameau, Telemann, Scarlatti, Carissimi and Allegri.

Called “an elite chorus” by The New York Times, The Canticum Novum Singers is now in its 46th season under the direction of its founder, Harold Rosenbaum. The choir has achieved both national and international recognition for its stylistic versatility, vocal blend, and expressive range. The ensemble has presented dozens of world, American, and New York premieres by composers ranging from Handel, J.C. Bach, Fauré and Bruckner, to Harbison, Berio, Schnittke, Rorem, Schickele and George Benjamin. Their latest CD is A Canticum Novum Christmas.

For more info, contact Maestro Rosenbaum at or call him at 914-582-3915.
