Call for Auditions:  Music on the Hill (Connecticut) Chamber Chorus

August 24, 2024 by musiconthehillct Leave a Comment

Music on the Hill (Connecticut) has a few spaces available for professional or semi-professional singers in its 16-voice Chamber Chorus. This ensemble performs works from all time periods, and combines a fresh artistic approach with an efficient but relaxed rehearsal process.

The Chorus has a rehearsal-performance cycle in early fall, and members have opportunities to sing with the choruses of Music on the Hill during the rest of the year. The current pay is $100 per rehearsal and $150 per concert.

This fall’s Chamber Chorus concert is Friday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m in Weston, CT. Rehearsals: Tuesdays September 3, 10, 17, 24, in Georgetown (Redding), Connecticut.

Auditions will consist of vocalizing, sight-reading, and a prepared solo. Applicants should have solo quality voices, with independent vocal strength, yet be able to listen effectively and blend with their section and the chorus. Excellent pitch, rhythm, sight-reading, blending, tone quality and musicality are expected.

Auditions will be held between August 26 and September 1 in Georgetown (Redding), CT.

Please email  to schedule an audition.

Ellen Dickinson, Artistic Director and Executive Director
