Fall rehearsals begin Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Auditions are scheduled by appointment. Visit www.sacredprofane.org/audition to learn more about our upcoming season and audition process and to complete a brief form.

About Sacred and Profane Chamber Chorus:
Founded in 1977, Sacred & Profane is a chamber chorus that performs a wide variety of a cappella choral music. Concert repertoire includes sacred and secular works from the middle ages to the contemporary period, drawing from classical, ethnic & folk traditions. We aim to provide an inspiring & educational experience for audiences & chorus members through innovative programming, intensive preparation & high quality performances.

S&P is composed of 28 to 32 singers (SATB), each bringing superior musicianship, vocal skill, and dedication to the ensemble, achieving professional-level performances. As a result, the ensemble is capable of superior execution of challenging repertoire from across the musical canon, including contemporary and highly demanding works. Our talented singers represent many facets of our diverse Bay Area communities; from a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and demographics. S&P embraces our vibrant membership and strives to explore and celebrate this through our repertoire.

Sacred and Profane is committed to celebrating our vibrant and diverse community. Our core values include uniting our voices for change and using our platform as artists to challenge inequity and amplify unheard voices. We stand in solidarity with those who are systemically silenced, marginalized, and oppressed, and we embrace the power of music to express our shared humanity. We support equity and belonging through our choice of repertoire, our inclusion of singers, audiences, and board members, and our actions as an organization. www.sacredprofane.org
