Auditions: Brattleboro (VT) Camerata

August 18, 2022 by Jonathan Harvey Leave a Comment

The southern Vermont-based Brattleboro Camerata invites singers of all voice parts to audition for our 2022-23 season! Rehearsals are 6:30-8:30pm on Monday evenings, beginning September 19.

Auditions are scheduled for the weekend of August 27 and 28 by appointment – contact the Brattleboro Music Center at 802-257-4523 or to reserve your time.

The Brattleboro Camerata is a chamber choir consisting of 12 to 20 singers, specializing in both Renaissance-era and Renaissance-inspired music. The Camerata explores both beloved classics and under-performed gems through innovative and energetic programming and performance.

Our Fall 2022 repertoire is Renaissance-era music from Latin America, including works in the indigenous Quechua and Nahuatl languages, and in Latin, by Gaspar Fernandes, Pedro Bermudez, and Juan Gutierrez de Padilla. Our Spring 2023 repertoire pairs Renaissance-era works with later music inspired by it, including music by Victoria, Tallis, Palestrina, and Morley, as well as Reena Esmail, P.D.Q. Bach, William Harris, Anton Bruckner, and a newly-commissioned work by Kitty Brazelton.
