Audition for The Stonewall Chorale
The Stonewall Chorale is the nation’s first gay and lesbian chorus, and is celebrating its 43rd season starting in the fall of 2019. We are committed to singing the great classical repertoire, and an array of music from all periods and styles. Our goals are to enrich people’s lives through performing great choral music, and to nurture and celebrate the community that we create together.
Our 43rd season includes choral works by Elder, Gjeilo, Esenwalds, Korvits, Lauridsen & Whitacre, a 90th Birthday Tribute to Stephen Sondheim, and a Pride Concert with works by Lauridsen, McDowall, and Boulanger. We rehearse Tuesday evenings in the Village and perform three concerts each season with additional cabaret and smaller performance opportunities.
For your guaranteed painless audition, you’ll sing a song of your choosing, (even ‘My Country, ‘Tis of Thee’), match pitches, and do some sight-singing. Auditions are by appointment – email .
