Amuse Singers is a small women’s vocal ensemble embarking on our 17th season. Our repertoire is a combination of the old and the new, ranging from sacred music to contemporary commissions. As a small ensemble of 10 – 15 singers, Amuse offers the opportunity for experienced choral singers to make a significant contribution to the sound and color of our collective voices. We are currently seeking all voice parts, especially low altos. We perform 3 concert cycles per year in October, February, and June in Manhattan and Brooklyn. All rehearsals take place on the UWS of Manhattan. We do not have a traditional weekly rehearsal schedule, but, instead, meet intensively for 6-7 rehearsals prior to our concerts. Strong sight-reading ability is helpful, but not required as long as singers are willing to prepare their music in advance.
