Work for university/ceremonial occasions available – “For the Graduation”

May 24, 2011 by Carson Cooman Leave a Comment

A new work is now available from composer Carson Cooman especially intended for university and school choirs to use at ceremonial occasions (e.g., commencement, convocation, baccalaureate service, etc.)

The composer has heard many comments from choral directors expressing difficulty finding appropriate secular repertoire for such occasions. A new commission from Harvard University has allowed for the composition of a work intended for use at such events.

The piece, For the Graduation, is a celebratory 2.5 minute SATB unaccompanied setting of an inspiring, secular poem by the American poet Robert Creeley (1926-2005).
