Wisconsin choir director returns home after being stranded by ash

Lucinda Thayer of Plover, conductor of the Wausau Lyric Choir, is scheduled to fly home today after her initial flight plans were canceled Sunday. Thayer, who is a professor of music and the director of choral activities at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, was serving for the fourth time as the American judge in an international choir competition last week in Verona, Italy.
