Winter Solstice for women’s choir

April 9, 2010 by Paul Carey Leave a Comment

Roger Dean has recently released my piece “Winter Solstice” for women’ choir (mostly SSA) and harp or piano (catalog #15/2715R). The piece is in two movements and lasts about nine minutes. The piece was commissioned and premiered  by the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble and sets gorgeous nature texts by two New Mexico poets.. The music reflects the wonderful imagery of the itexts with a lot of very sweet, flowing  phrases, is not difficult,  and has been a hit with singers and audiences in New Mexico and elsewhere. Contact me or Roger Dean if you would like a perusal score. The texts are great for any winter-themed (or seasons themed) concert and do not reference Christmas or other religious language. Visit  http://paulcarey.net/Music/Winter_Solstice.htm for more info.

Thanks, Paul
