Winchester Musica Viva, a premiere chamber choir with 42 years making fine choral music, is holding auditions for all sections. Viva’s repertoire encompasses a wide variety of choral styles including classical music, new music, standard choral literature, and original compositions, as well as lighter genres such as jazz and spirituals.
Singer auditions will be held in August 2023, prior to the beginning of rehearsals for the fall season. Viva rehearses on Sunday evenings in downtown Winchester from 6:30-9 PM. The Artistic Director, Dr. Bryce Hayes of James Madison University, is seeking highly skilled musicians to audition for the ensemble. Interested singers are encouraged to audition with a prepared piece, sight-reading, and range work. Music teachers, college staff and graduate students, and those with significant upper-level choral experience are encouraged to reach out.
