This Bach chorale prelude is one of works discovered by Professor Krumbach
at Yale University in 1982. The University had acquired the manuscripts from
Lowell Mason in 1852.

Handel’s oratorio Deborah uses a libretto based on chapters 4 & 5 of the Book
of Judges in which the prophetess Deborah fortells the death of the Canaanite
commander by a woman. John Longhurst was Tabernacle organist from 1977-2007.

Italian composer Ildebrando Pizzetti (1880-1968) wrote his Requiem in 1922-23.
He was a contemporary of Ottorino Respighi whom he succeeded as the Director

The Henry Willis organ in Huddersfield Town Hall was built for an exhibition hall
in Newport, South Wales in 1860. It was moved to Huddersfield Town Hall. The
instrument was was rebuilt by Harrison & Harrison in 1980.

Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736) was another one of those musical
geniuses who died at far too young an age. He was primarily known as a composer
of comic operas. But he also wrote church music which was stood the test of time.
His setting of the 13th century meditation Stabat Mater by Jacoponus is still widely performed.
