The major work for this Sunday is Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem.
We have several versions in the library. The one we shall enjoy
is interpreted by the late Carlo Maria Giulini with two top
soloists of their day: Nicolai Gedda and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.
Hour 1 includes Herbert Howells ravishing setting of Psalm 42
“Like as the hart desireth the waterbrooks” as well as a track
or two from a new CD featuring the Grant Park Chorus in Chicago.
Thanks again for your continued support of Great Sacred Music
and The Classical Station.
