Weston Noble Inducted to Hall of Fame

March 25, 2014 by Scott Dorsey Leave a Comment

The American Classical Music Hall of Fame has included revered choral conductor Weston Noble among its 2013 class of inductees.

Founded in 1996, The American Classical Music Hall of Fame seeks to build and sustain enthusiasm for classical music in America by celebrating diverse facets of classical music excellence. The Hall of Fame Inductees are selected through a rigorous process involving nominations and voting by the organization’s National Artistic Council, Board of Directors and Inductee Selection Committee, and Professional Organization Advisory Council. Members of the Inductee Selection Committee were Steven Monder and Sandra Rivers (chairs), Trey Devey, Peter Landgren, Patty Beggs, Brian Shepard, Nina Perlove, Trish Bryan, David Klingshirn, Vance Wolverton, Bob Olson, and Earl Rivers.

In May, 1998, the first induction took place at Cincinnati’s Historic Music Hall during a concert by the United States Marine Band. This event marked the launch of the Hall of Fame as an award-granting body. It now has over 100 inductees, which it honors through special events nationwide and via its website: www.americanclassicalmusic.org. The Hall of Fame also created a groundbreaking, interactive dancing musical fountain in Washington Park, which can be activated via the app “WOF Player,” (fountain is seasonal but music plays year round).
The artists and organizations being installed as part of the 2013 class include:
     Composer: Aaron Jay Kernis
     Educator and Conductor: Weston Noble
     Organization: American Guild of Organists
     Performer: Andre Watts
     Ensemble: Guarneri Quartet
