We heard you: Presenting the Independent Music Publishers Cooperative

March 8, 2011 by Abbie Betinis Leave a Comment

Conductors,

After years of following this ChoralNet community, studying how conductors make programming decisions, where you look first to buy music, and what you need to know before you buy, we composers have heard you!  And we’ve joined forces to present the Independent Music Publishers Cooperative.

Here you can browse quality titles by innovative composers all in one place — all self-published music that you may not find anywhere else (except on our individual websites).  Titles have streaming audio recordings, videos (where possible), texts and translations, reviews, and watermarked PDF scores to peruse more of the piece before buying.

We are so excited to unveil our new Co-op at National ACDA this week!
Please visit our large booth space near the escalators (1200-1204) to meet our composers, relax at our listening station, and browse & buy over 250 self-published titles by:

Elizabeth Alexander
Abbie Betinis
Jocelyn Hagen
Edie Hill
Linda Tutas Haugen
J. David Moore
Joan Szymko
Timothy C. Takach

Coming soon:
Catherine Dalton
Caldwell & Ivory

And — if you’re not coming to the conference — please check out our new website.  It’s our greatest pleasure to write choral music for a living, and many of you who know us have commissioned it, programmed it, and made it your own.  Now we’re bringing all of that sheet music into one place, hopefully for your convenience and delight.  Please do let us know how we’re doing.

Sincerely,
Abbie Betinis (on behalf of all the composers above)
