June 1, 2011 by Richard Allen Roe Leave a Comment

SASKATOON — Phoebe Voigts, the artistic director of the Saskatoon Children’s Choir, has been named Children’s Champion of the Year by Child & Youth Friendly Saskatoon.

Each year, the organization honours a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the lives of children in the community.

Voigts founded the SCC in 1996. Under her leadership, the group of young singers has won awards and travelled the world. The SCC places an emphasis on high standards and integrating humanitarian work.
