CINCINNATI — Fort Wayne’s Voices of Unity choir has taken a gold medal in the Popular Choral Music category in Cincinnati as part of the 2012 World Choir Games.
The choir competed Sunday evening, and the award ceremony took place Monday morning.
The competition is based upon points. The choir with the most points in a specific category earns the title of Grand Champion. Voices of Unity earned 84.63 points. Stellenbosch University Choir (South Africa) earned 91.25 points and a gold medal. Dekoor Close Harmony (Netherlands) are the Grand Champions of the Popular Choral Music. They earned 92.13 points, a gold medal, and a trophy.
