VERO BEACH, FL — The Vero Beach Choral Society has engaged
Jason Hobratschk as assistant director of its 40-member choir. In
this new position, Hobratschk will most immediately create and
oversee a small women’s ensemble while assisting Artistic Director
Daniel Koh with rehearsals and performances.
Hobratschk, with nine years of directing experience, is the
organist and choirmaster at Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach.
He will also continue performing as a bass in the Choral
Society.
Prior to accepting the position at Trinity Episcopal Church in
2010, Hobratschk undertook research for his doctoral dissertation
on German composer Werner Egk while residing in Munich, Germany as
a Fulbright scholar. He expects to graduate from Florida State
University in December with a PhD in Musicology.
