SURSUM CORDA, conducted by Lester Seigel, presents “In Dulci Jubilo,” our biennial holiday concert, on Thursday, December 8 at 7:30 PM at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL. Admission is free.
We are honored to perform the US premiere of “A Posy for the Christ Child” by Derek Healey, and that the composer will be present for this event. Harpist for the work is Judith Sullivan Hicks, principal harp of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
Other works on the program include “Come, My Light” by Imant Raminsh, selections from Brahms’ Marienlieder, Samuel Scheidt’s “In Dulci Jubilo,” and a host of carol and spiritual arrangements and shorter compositions for the holiday season.
