A NEW TV documentary will be music to the ears of
Dunstablians who are part of a singing sensation nicknamed ‘the
people’s choir’.
They were among thousands of Rock Choir singers filmed giving an
inspiring performance at Wembley Arena.
And they sung their hearts out at the huge event, seen in The
Choir That Rocks, a three-part documentary about the national Rock
Choir craze.
Dunstable Rock Choir, launched in 2009, now has 85 keen members
who sing pop, rock, gospel and soul numbers.
The documentary follows five months in the life of Rock Choir
members.
Now the first episode will air at 9pm on ITV1 this Thursday,
June 16.
National founder Caroline Redman Lusher sets out to gather
together Rock Choir members from around the country to sing
together for the first time at the Wembley Arena event.
Pippa Gearing, the Dunstable choir leader, was interviewed by
the TV team and sang a solo at the mass performance.
The TV crew also came to Dunstable’s Grove Theatre, to film Rock
Choir members.
