Tim Brown, NFL choir at Super Bowl Gospel show

February 4, 2011 by Richard Allen Roe Leave a Comment

by Lynn Hoppes

NFL legend Tim Brown knows he’s can’t sing.

“I couldn’t do ‘American Idol’ or anything like that,” said
Brown, who played 16 years in the NFL, mostly with the Raiders.
“I’m a choir singer, so I can just stay in the background.”

Brown, along with the NFL PLAYERS choir, will be belting out
tunes Friday night in Dallas as part of the Super Bowl Gospel
Celebration.

The concert series, in its 12th year, attracts top
gospel/contemporary Christian and mainstream artists and marquee
players. The NFL choir made its debut in the 2008 show with more
than 40 active and former players under the direction of Grammy
Award-winning gospel artist Donnie McClurkin.
