Three New Patriotic Works – TUX People’s Music

May 30, 2026 by TUX People's Music Leave a Comment

As we approach America250 this summer, here are three unique and patriotic choral works that provide variety from the usual standards.

1. Back Roads of America (SATB with piano and/or guitar)

This original folk song honors the neglected heroes of our country: a couple who lives paycheck-to-paycheck, a single woman who works three jobs, and a fisherman who is losing his home to “progress.” Reminiscent of Woody Guthrie and Joni Mitchell, this piece pays tribute to the everyday people who make sacrifices. A fresh, moving, and passionate SATB composition that is perfect for your America250 concert!

2. Marching Through Georgia (TTB with piano and opt. Snare Drum)

Bring an exhilarating energy to your men’s choir with this fresh arrangement of a Civil War victory tune. With accessible vocal lines and an optional snare drum part, this joyful patriotic march will have everyone shouting, “Hurrah!”

3. The Liberty Song (SATB a cappella)

“By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall.” The lyrics to this pre-Revolutionary War song, penned by Founding Father John Dickinson, were one of the first written instances of the popular American motto. With an added clever reference to “The Star Spangled Banner,” this new a cappella arrangement is timely and dynamic on any U.S.-themed program.
