There will come soft rains – Brian Holmes

October 13, 2012 by Brian Holmes Leave a Comment

There will come soft rains is my setting of two Sara Teasdale
poems, “Spring in War-Time” and “There Will Come Soft Rains.”
It has just been published by Santa Barbara Music Publishing.
It is for unaccompanied mixed chorus.  The piece was
commissioned by the Choral Arts Ensemble of Rochester MN,
Michael Culloton, Artistic Director.  They premiered it last May.
A perusal score and recording are available here.

Cheers,
Brian Holmes
Winner, 2012 American Prize in Choral Composition
