By James Johnson ASCAP 1551618. I finally completed this work, having begun imagining it many years ago. I believe
it is the first musical setting of this darkly humorous poem from Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll.
Briefly, Alice encounters a pair of chubby twins named Tweedledum and Tweedledee who recite the poem to her.
The Walrus and the Carpenter are two unsavory characters who happen to be walking along the ocean shore and
come upon a bed of succulent innocent little oysters. Beguiling them with philosophical profundities, they lead the oysters down
the shore a mile or so and then feast on them. A tragic story, but hilarious. Younger choruses will especially enjoy this.
My works are written into Sibelius, from which I can offer printed scores in transactions customized for the specific needs
see my page here on ChoralNet.
