The Wachner Project: McCoy documents 29hrs in the life of noted conductor

May 7, 2011 by Patrick D. McCoy Leave a Comment

Take a glimpse into the life of the brilliant young conductor, Julian Wachner (b. 1969) music director of The Washington Chorus and Director of Music and the Arts at Trinity Church-Wall Street in New York City.  Recently, I had the opportunity to travel to NYC, documenting 29hrs in the life of Wachner, as he was at the crossroads of three major choral projects:  The Music of Elena Ruehr, Bach at One at Trinity Church in NYC and then jetting right back to D.C. for the preparation of the chorus for the 50th Anniversary of the Grammy award winning Washington Chorus founded in 1961 by Hugh Hayward as The Oratorio Society of Montgomery County.
