I need your help in recruiting participants of ALL levels and abilities…
I am a choral/vocal professor and co-founder of Chorosynthesis with Wendy Moy. My research examines expressivity in conductors and choirs and has implications for rehearsal, performance, and conducting pedagogy. Please consider participating in the Choral Expressivity Study.
In this 20-minute survey, you will evaluate conductor and/or choir performances for their levels of expressivity. In addition, you will be asked to explain why you rated each video in the manner you did.
This research falls in line with a whole series of studies and furthers them in several ways. Additionally, it is the first of this kind in an online platform. The applications to and implications for choral and conducting performance, pedagogy, and rehearsal are many, and while I cannot go into to much detail, the results will likely help to inform new ways of writing conducting textbooks and methods curriculums, etc.
I need hundreds of participants, and I would love for ACDA to support me. Please consider the folllowing:
1) Take the survey yourself.
2) Share the survey via Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.
I need 1) singers, 2) instrumentalists, 3) accompanists, and 4) conductors.
