I invite you to do two things:
- Visit http://www.igg.me/at/TeachSSB200 to view the campaign video and to make a donation — any amount helps!
- Share your enthusiasm for the campaign with friends on Facebook and email. We need you to make this work.
We’ve created the Star Spangled Music Foundation to propel this conversation through great music making. In the next couple of days we’ll post some new videos that SSMF Board Chair Mark Clague produced with University of Michigan students and faculty. The quality of the music makes it all work, as you’ll see on our Youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/starspangledmusic and our website http://www.starspangledmusic.org. The key here is that by publishing the recordings and scores through a non-profit, we retain complete control over the copyright and can let teachers, museums, and students use the resources in perpetuity at no charge. This is why we need your help in making the project happen.
Your personal endorsement will inspire the coalition of support we need both to pay for this effort and to connect with the teachers who will use this material next September when Key’s anthem celebrates 200 years. Send your friends who are teachers to http://starspangledmusic.org/?p=306 to register and receive updates, ideas, and access to our instructional tools.
Thanks for everything,
Your Star-Spangled friends!
