Singers Support Girls Rescued from Human Trafficking

RSVP announces Forgotten Peoples — a concert series benefiting Courage Worldwide, a nonprofit organization that works to build Courage Houses, or safe homes, for girls rescued from human trafficking.

 

Three concerts, Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 and 10, present a mix of stunning and powerful new works by American composer Michael Gandolfi, Estonian composer Veljo Tormis, Irish composer Michael McGlynn and British composer Will Todd.

 

The November concerts, which take place in Lincoln and midtown Sacramento, feature the Reconciliation Singers Voices of Peace with the modern chamber ensemble, Citywater. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and are free, with donations accepted for Courage Worldwide.

 

Now in their 13th season, RSVP’s 16-member vocal ensemble has performed throughout the region to raise funds for charities including Music Partners in Healthcare, Home Start, Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento, Mustard Seed School, WEAVE, InAlliance and Sacramento Food Bank.

 

“Our mission is to bring people together through the arts and to give back to the community,” says Julie Adams, RSVP’s artistic director and conductor. “We are thrilled and honored to use the gift of live music to directly support such an important cause that has a local and global reach.”
