During a ceremony in Dover First Moravian Church, Phyllis Ronald, representing the Moravian Music Foundation, presented him with the prestigious award, named for the Rev. James Salzwedel, who served the Moravian Church as a pastor, organist and handbell director.

The award is presented to those who have made significant contributions to the musical lives of their congregations and have served over an extended period of time. Jones completed his 65th year with Dover First’s Chancel Choir this year and sang in the youth choirs for eight years before that.
