Sing with GMChorale!

August 10, 2023 by Marcia Bliven Leave a Comment

GMChorale has a fantastic Mainstage Season planned for 2023-2024 and we would love for YOU to be a part of it. On November 12, strains of majestic masterpieces from the Renaissance and Baroque eras will ring out in the Santo Fragilio Performing Arts Center. The music selections are inspired by various feast days and celebratory occasions from those periods. The program features works such as Handel’s coronation anthem “Zadok the Priest,” Bach’s magnificent “Magnificat.” Purcell’s “Jubilate Deo in D Major,” and two rousing choruses by Handel, including the “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Our Spring Mainstage concert on Sunday, April 28, will feature Brahms’ “Schicksalslied” (Song of Destiny) – which, in many ways, is like his “Requiem” – and Schubert’s “Mass in E-Flat, No. 6,” his final and most mature composition. This is one of the great Mass settings of all time, and is representative of early-Romanticism with a nod back to the Renaissance and Baroque eras.

GMChorale singers have the opportunity to become better musicians by engaging with these masterpieces with professional section leaders and music teachers, an experience unique to GMChorale.

Don’t miss the unique opportunity to fall in love again with these timeless masterworks. Fill out the inquiry form at https://www.gmchorale.org/join
