Sibley High School Students Fight to Keep Choir Director

WEST ST. PAUL, MN — Students at Henry Sibley High School are
fighting to keep their Choir Director. Budget cuts are forcing
staffing cuts in the West Saint Paul-Mendota Heights -Eagan School
District.

Aaron Kapaun is a favorite among Sibley Students, but he may not
be at the high school next year. Budget cuts in the district are
forcing some teachers out of jobs others will only have part time
work.

Mr. Kapaun is slated to lose about an hour of work every week.
Since High School Choir Director is a fulltime job, that job will
go to someone with more seniority. and Mr. Kapaun will likely have
to move to an elementary school. The District says state law
requires these changes.
