Dear choral musicians/singers,
I have, for many years been teaching people of all ages to sing, but of course, it goes so much deeper than that. It is not just about developing technique and gaining the confidence to stand out from the crowd and sing for an audience. My experience is that singing is such a deeply personal matter, which is why it takes great courage to take the steps that are necessary to open yourself to it. It has the power to be profoundly healing, not just for the listener but for the singer too.
Through the exploration of the voice, if you persevere, you may find the core of who you are.. Not the voices that applaud or ridicule you, or anything in between. These are the sounds of the unreal, they are the echoes of the ghosts of the past, the teachers who meant well, and those who did not, the judgement of parents, siblings, friends, colleagues, the closed systems and the value judgements that were placed on what is acceptable and what is not.
All of these things are cobwebs. They hide our true form and nature. They keep us from the moment. They cause us to repeat patterns over and over again until we can take it no more and we either give up or we stop and ask why. Those of us who find the courage, excavate our self for the truth behind this veil, the veil which is the echo of a past that no longer fits who we are or who we wish to reveal.
I believe, at the very depth of us, we are searching for our true nature, our core, what it is that makes us utterly unique, like every single snow flake that was ever formed.
I often tell my clients, “Each note is a person who wants to sing their full song. If we deny this note its full expression, then it will live out this reality, forever”. We are the notes of the Infinite. We came here to sing our full song.
I am searching for the creative, expressive, sensitive people, to talk to you about your experiences of singing so that I can build an online course to help people just like you to become all that you came here to be. You are the singers who may feel stuck and frustrated, underestimated, due to nervousness/performance anxiety, and you would like help with this, and/or with vocal technique, so that you can perform/audition with confidence, professionalism and full presence, both in the context of choral music, or as a soloist, if that is your wish…
My name is Joanne Harding and I am a classically trained singer, (soprano). Alongside my work as a singer, I have also been teaching singing all of my professional life, working with singers of all ages and levels, from beginners to professional musicians, and I have been providing vocal coaching for choral groups.
In tandem with my singing life, I have deeply and extensively studied holistic healing and coaching/guidance which I have incorporated within my work, and together with the power of music and singing, I have witnessed many life changing transformations in both the singing and personal lives of those with whom I work. It is a very humbling and gratifying experience.
If you are interested in speaking with me about your experiences with singing, I would be delighted if you could get in touch, and/or share my message with your friends and colleagues.
Below is a calendly link where you can set up a meeting time with me, or alternatively, you can get in touch with me through DM on Facebook at Joanna Harding, if these times do not suit you.
Please know that your perspective is of great value to me and will be treated with the utmost respect and gratitude.
Many thanks and blessings,
Joanne
