Schola Cantorum Rebranded to Schola Cantorum Silicon Valley

September 17, 2017 by Diane Holcomb Leave a Comment

Schola Cantorum announces a new name for the choral group: Schola Cantorum Silicon Valley. This rebranding defines the area they reach while reintroducing themselves to the community with a modernized logo.

“Schola Cantorum has been a pillar of the choral music community in the Bay Area for 53 years. Silicon Valley has changed substantially during that time, but Schola remains committed to sharing the joy of singing,” says Board Chair Catherine Lyman. “We are rebranding to make it easier for people to know we are very much a part of the local arts scene. We nurture local vocal talent and local composers as well as celebrate a wide variety of world artists.”

Carol Worthington-Levy, provider of creative and marketing services for Schola Cantorum, redesigned the logo and website to reflect the new brand. “Schola Cantorum’s logo has been serving us well for over twenty years. During that time, Schola has become more diversified in its repertoire and is recognized by more people than ever. As we enter the 54th season, we were ready to develop a fresh logo that would give nod to our heritage, through the color and the musical ‘SC” logomark, but improve the ease of reading and the effectiveness of the logo for online use,” she says.

Schola Cantorum Silicon Valley is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect the community with the wonders of choral music through outstanding live performances, educational outreach programs, and collaborations with local artists. Music Director Gregory Wait conducts the 75-voice chorus, selected through an audition process.
