Through the years, he’s been a prominent fixture on the local music scene, from his performances as Tevye in several productions of “Fiddler on the Roof” to his yearly “Lessons and Carols” celebrations that kick off the Christmas season.
He’ll be feted at a marathon concert today at the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall at the Clovis North Educational Center. The concert, featuring 120 singers and 50 instrumentalists, includes two monumental pieces that have been important to Klassen over the years: Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” and the Brahms Requiem.
