Rochester show choir takes indirect route to Greek tour

April 19, 2010 by Allen H Simon Leave a Comment

Greece Athena High School’s Show Choir will be able to cruise the Greek Isles after all, after ash from volcanic eruptions in Iceland disrupted travel plans here and around the world in the past few days.

Thousands of flights were canceled as a vast cloud of grit drifted over Europe. The Greece Athena students traveled from Toronto to Atlanta, then on to Athens, Greece, today, said Show Choir director Judith A. Ranaletta.

The cruise company had agreed to delay departure of the ship because so many passengers were affected by European flight cancellations and delays.
