Richard Carrick named Artistic Director of South Metro Chorale

August 8, 2015 by Amy Scherbring Leave a Comment

It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our new Artistic Director of the South Metro Chorale!

Richard Carrick is a conductor, singer, and educator. Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, Richard holds degrees from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and the University of Oregon in Voice and Choral Conducting, respectively. Following his degrees, Richard returned to San Francisco where he was a director for the San Francisco Boys Chorus and taught in the public schools.

Since moving to the Twin Cities Richard has become very active in the vibrant music community.  He serves as Artistic Director of the Calliope Women’s Chorus, Assistant Conductor of the Oratorio Society of Minnesota, Music director for Glendale United Methodist Church, and teaches full time at Burroughs Community School. Richard has sung professionally with the Minnesota Chorale, the SPCO Chorale, Magpies and Ravens, and IMPLS. Richard is married to Jessica Schroeder, who recently completed a DMA at the University of Minnesota in collaborative piano.

We will be starting our fall/winter season at our first rehearsal on September 8th, 2015 at Hidden Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake, MN, and will be announcing our concert schedule soon.

If you or anyone you know is interested in auditioning for the group, please contact Richard at .  Looking for all voices, especially tenors and basses.
