Rant around the clock: Ottawa musician launches Complaints Choir

OTTAWA — While most people hate listening to other people’s
complaints, Glenn Nuotio is asking for them.

The Ottawa musician is organizing the city’s first Complaints
Choir, and is on a mission to transform the daily rantings of
Ottawa residents into song.

“Ottawa is seen as this polite and sleepy city, but there are
things here that simmer,” Nuotio said.

He’s inviting Ottawa residents to e-mail him their complaints or
leave them as comments on the Ottawa Complaints Choir’s blog.
(Complainers’ identities will not be revealed.) Then, with the help
of volunteers and other local musicians, he’ll turn those
complaints into song lyrics, which will be performed by the choir
at a series of performances in August.

“I’d like to see what Ottawa is capable of and how honest we can
be,” Nuotio said.
