Randall Giles, composer and ethnomusicologist, died Aug. 27, 2010, in India, following a heart attack. He was 60.

In 1999, as a missionary of the Episcopal church, Randy was invited to serve the Church of South India, to do parish-based work in music, and to work towards the founding of a center for Indian Christianity and the Arts. He lived, until recently, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and worked as the director of the department of music and liturgy for the Church of South India’s Madras Diocese.
