LONDON, ONT — There’s a new man holding the baton in front of the London Fanshawe Symphonic Choral orchestra and choirs.

David Holler, of St. Catharines and currently the conductor of the University of Toronto’s Men’s Chorus and assistant conductor of the faculty’s elite choir, MacMillan Singers, is the new artistic director overseeing the Fanshawe Chorus London, The Gerald Fagan Singers and The London Concert Orchestra.

He replaces Gerald Fagan who retired last year after 33 years, along with his wife, Marlene, who was the general manager.  Holler said he’s aware Fagan’s are big shoes to fill.

“Everyone tells me that, so it’s intimidating but exciting as well,” said Holler.  “The biggest challenge is letting the choir know the standards won’t change, that I intend to uphold the same high standard the Fagans established and, hopefully, more.”
