Princeton Pro Musica will hold a symposium panel discussion prior to its May concert of great music by G.F. Handel, featuring the oratorio Israel In Egypt. The free symposium will be held at the Princeton Public Library, Princeton, on Monday, April 28 at 7:00pm. No tickets are required.
Moderated by Dr. Ryan Brandau, Dr. Wendy Heller, Professor of Music at Princeton University, Dr. Andrew Megill, conductor of Fuma Sacra and the Montreal Symphony Chorus and a professor at Westminster Choir College, and Dr. Joyce Irwin, a scholar of religion and music and singer and former professor at Colgate University, will consider the work’s exciting music, unusual libretto, and unique design in order to understand its special place in the history of Handel’s oratorios.
