Oakland, CA., May 19, 2014 – The Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir (PEBCC) will offer “Musical Beginnings” — a class for infants and toddlers ages 0 – 3 and their caregivers in the fall of 2014. The class will be taught by popular PEBCC Kinder Department Director Kate Offer and will be held at the Piedmont Center for the Arts, Tuesdays, 10:30-11:20am for 12 weeks each quarter.
In these fun and friendly 50-minute classes, children and a parent or caregiver will enjoy a wide range of activities: from tapping and clapping to bounces, wiggles, tickles, to lullabies, simple songs, and more! Studies show that even the youngest children gain tremendous benefits from music making—supporting the development of language and listening skills, stimulating brain connections, and encouraging creativity. This class will not only provide young children with the chance to participate in music making, but will also equip caregivers with a wide repertoire of songs and poems to enjoy with their children outside of class.
With the introduction of Musical Beginnings, the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir becomes the only Bay Area music school to offer unparalleled music education from cradle to graduation. Boys and Girls ages 0 – 18 now have the opportunity to share in the musicianship, performance, joy, and lifelong friendships that the Choir offers. Musical Beginnings is truly the very best place to start.
