The Sounds of Stow invites singers in all voice parts to join us for our open rehearsals: Mondays, August 28, September 4, and September 11, beginning at 7:00 p.m., First Parish of Stow/Acton: 353 Great Road, Stow. https://soundsofstow.org
We are soaring into our 45th season with a two-for-one opportunity to sing: Christopher Tin’s newest work, The Lost Birds (East Coast premiere performance in Littleton on November 19) with the Sounds of Stow Orchestra under the direction of Barbara Jones, and “Christmas Magic” (performances on December 9 at Groton Hill Music Center) with the Vista Philharmonic under the direction of Bruce Hangen.
Masking is optional, the hall is well-ventilated, and rehearsals will be streamed live and recorded for those who cannot attend in person. During this thrilling season of music, we will continue to celebrate our commitment to exploring and performing great works from all periods and styles, and we hope you will consider experiencing it with us!
Our singers hail from more than twenty area cities and towns, and membership is open to anyone who can match pitch, learn the music, and blend with the other voices. Artistic Director Barbara Jones and Assistant Director Christina Kennedy promote principles of good singing and serious musicianship at weekly rehearsals that are lively, challenging, and always fun.
