Ola Gjeilo Composer in Residence 2015/6 with VOCES8

September 15, 2015 by Robin Tyson Leave a Comment

VOCES8 is delighted to announce a collaboration that will see Ola Gjeilo as Composer in Residence for the 2015-2016 season. VOCES8 and Ola have previously performed together both in concert and on recordings and fostered a mutual friendship. Both of VOCES8’s Decca albums, Eventide and Lux, include a track of Ola’s, and this season sees a Decca Classics release entirely of Ola’s music featuring some tracks with VOCES8.

Ola is writing the Brock Commission for 2016 and is scoring his piece for VOCES8 with piano and string quartet. Ola will play the piano part at all of the 7 ACDA Regional Conventions in 2016, with VOCES8 joining him at 6 of those Conventions.

VOCES8 looks forward to welcoming Ola to its London home the Gresham Centre during the 2015/16 season for further collaborations.
