I’m pleased to announce the launch of my new web site www.kurterickson.com At this new site you will be able to purchase scores, download recordings, find out about upcoming concerts, and read about other assorted news and upcoming projects.
As a San Francisco Bay Area based composer, I’ve written new works for a wide assortment of organizations and ensembles, some of whom include: San Francisco Girls Chorus, Minnesota Orchestra, Sacramento Philharmonic, choral ballets for the Lawrence Pech Dance Company, plus 5 years worth of sacred music composer residencies at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral and The National Shrine of Saint Francis of Assisi. These days I am currently working on a new opera commission (premiere dates starting June 2011 in Houston, Sacramento, and Fresno); my song set Chicago Songs will receive numerous performances this season in San Francisco, New York, New Jersey, and South Dakota; and this December the Ragazzi Boys Chorus and Sonos Handbell Ensemble will premiere my new choral work A Carol for Carole in assorted San Francisco Bay Area venues.
