Do you love to sing and have a strong desire to help others? A unique new choir, NaperVoice, is forming in Naperville, Illinois to provide excellent musical opportunities for both professional and amateur singers, with a mission of supporting those in need through local service organizations. Auditions for NaperVoice will be held in Spring and Summer 2022, with the ensemble’s inaugural concert planned for November 2022. The Founding Conductor/Artistic Director, Philip Spencer, is a graduate of the Yale University School of Music with significant additional doctoral work in choral conducting pursued at the University of Iowa. He has recently completed 20 years as a full-time Professor of Music, Director of Choral and Vocal Music, and instructor of voice at a Chicago area college; and is a recipient of Lewis University’s St. Genesius Award “for extraordinary achievement in choral music and music education.” Concert repertoire may be quite diverse depending on the program, including classical, world, musical theater, gospel, and vocal jazz genres. NaperVoice’s inaugural concert, Gather in Gratitude, will feature works of Johannes Brahms, Eric Whitacre, Caroline Shaw, Jake Runestad, Rosephayne Powell, and several other notable composers.

NaperVoice Inc. is a nonprofit organization formed and incorporated in 2021, with 501(c)(3) status in the State of Illinois pending. This choir supports efforts to achieve diversity, equity, and inclusion in matters of race, gender, and age. For further information and audition application
